Digital Press Tips - Design for Digital

When printing on a digital press here are a few things to be aware of, adjust your design accordingly to optimise your print output. 

1. Gradients and large areas of solid colour do not print very smoothly, please add some noise to ensure a good print. You can also ask us to use Light Cyan and Light Magenta this will smooth the print but won’t be ideal for corporate colour and graphics, so its best for photographic work.

2. Fine text. For ultra fine text please use either black, or one of the other process colours, Cyan, Magenta or Yellow. The screening on the indigo makes fine text on business cards a little “fluffy” when using a mix of colours.

3. Fine lines. Again, use process colours, same problem, the screening makes fine detail work less clear than traditional Litho.

4. Try and avoid printing solid black on a cover of a book as this shows finger prints and marks very quickly.

Our pricing is R75.00 for an A2 on 180gsm matt paper we can also supply a Hewlett Packard Everyday Gloss for the same price. This will be a digital print on our Espon 9900.

Hi there, the prints will be R83.00 Incl VAT each. I have quoted you on Hahnemeuhle German Etching 310gsm paper. There are other options such as printing on our press but it really depends on the definition needed.
